Ruby - Dw Fearn VT-5 equalizer TBR 26 Jan 2018

Post by giancarlo » Tue Jan 23, 2018 5:15 pm

We'll post a lot of details ASAP
Basically we'll release Ruby this friday 26 Jan 2018

This is a collaboration with Doug W Fearn, so basically we'll have temporary new rules, and they will be applied to this product only.
- I achieved to get a presale period. It should be 1 month, not more.
- Full price is USD 289, so 235 EUR.
- Introductionary price is 199.75 (15% discount)
- No loyal coupons this time.
- Possibly no dealer coupons. I need to speak with Doug about it. You'll know the exact rule before friday.

Product is extremely stable, there was a long beta-testing on it.
If you ask to me, it is the BEST eq we have ever released, I know I'm biased but I think this is the best ITB equalizer ever.
It is extremely close to the original hardware BUT the hardware is BETTER if you ask to me or Doug. Doug said it is "very very good".

Steep price, but I'm sure it's great.

200... it's a big ask for an EQ, especially for all those loyal customers who bought all your offerings to help you get here :|

Ruby is finally out!

Product: Ruby
Developer: Acustica Audio
Price (MSRP): €235.00
Plug-in Format(s): VST2, AU, AAX
System Requirements (Windows): Windows 7 - Windows 10
System Requirements (OSX): OSX 10.8 - OSX 10.13

Ruby commercial version: https://www.acustica-audio.com/store/products/ruby

Ruby trial version: https://www.acustica-audio.com/store/pr ... ruby-trial

DETAILS

Ruby is as an official endorsement and a faithful representation of the D.W. Fearn highly sought-after vacuum tube equalizer VT-5. The original hardware equalizer uses passive LC circuitry with class-A triode vacuum tube stages for the input and output. The input transformer is made by Jensen. The output stage utilizes the same custom Jensen transformer used on the VT-1/VT-2 mic preamps.

Acustica Audios plug-ins are based on a unique for the market cutting-edge non-linear Vectorial Volterra Kernels technology. This means that they are build of dynamically captured samples of the original hardware gear. This approach delivers unprecedented sonic quality in the box with very similar micro-details and transient response to the original hardware.

Most of Acustica Audio plug-ins come with a "Preamp on/off" function. With it "on" the plug-in recreates dynamically the pass-through sonic coloration of the original unit (all EQ knobs at 0 gain). This includes the harmonic distortion behaviour of the hardware, the introduced phase shift and any frequency response deviations. With it switched "off" the plug-in offers a much "cleaner" and more linear sonic character than the hardware.

As with the preamp on gain staging into the plug-in behaves similarly to hitting the original unit at different input levels, Ruby comes with an "Input Trim" control. This allows for a "one knob" internal gain control, by hidden linked input and output gain stages. When a positive value is selected the signal entering Ruby is brought up by the set amount in dB at the device's input, and it is brought down by the same level at Ruby's output. Contrary to this, negative values result in lower internal operational levels compensated at the output of the plug-in.
The "Output Gain" control provided allows for matching the original loudness of the source material after applying equalization.

Trialing! I Think to Buy this one tomorrow!!!
This new breakthrough in ITB :D ! The sound is smooth even at extreme values  . DIP mode is great :o (I always wanted to have EQP+MEQ in one hand).
And most importantly is the CPU optimization. (guys on Haswell understand me ) The possibility of using the unit not only on Bus, so on individual tracks.

Ancora una volta GRAZIE! :P Anche Grazie D.W.Fearn! :D

We didn't decide it. This is the only way for getting this authentic sound.
It is not simply an eq. This is the best eq we released so far

Are there two preamp sections? I see “LowPreamp” and “Preamp” in the text description above.

ok we have a simple way for enabling trial versions in aquarius (without using the website)

Use code
LASTTRIALS
in aquarius, gear icon in the top right corner (settings), coupon tab
It will enable diamond lift, crimson, lemon and finally ruby

there is a single preamp
