This IS a game changer.............

I know, i know.............that hackneyed term is bandied around a lot, but really..........I've been testing this too, and trying it in all kinds of different applications, bass, mixes, guitars, synths, drums........and it shines in many areas. I've honestly never heard distortion quite like this ITB so far. I was working on a mix last night and had it in various wildly different setting on different elements in a mix, and eventually after careful tweaking (the wet/dry & filter knobs are your friend) i got some tones that were really reminicent of proper valve hardware. There's always been something about saturation/distortion plugins ITB that is so disappointing to real analogue distortion. Hard to describe without using the florid words, unaccurate words like 'creamy', 'warm' etc, etc.....but to my ears there was a solidity i 'm hearing that reminded me quite seriously of a real valve stage and the robust solidity and 'chunk' that valves can give. Usually if one listens to an algo sat plug for too long in a mix, i tend to grow weary of listening to that, ultimately artificial, 'fizzy fuzz' thiness of an algo, wheras i don't seem to have grown bored of the elements processed with Crimson after more lengthy listening. It holds up...................

The experience after processing various elements in said mix, was enlightening to say the least. This tech, now AA are really delving into saturation, takes us truly into new realms of ITB sound IMHO and is cutting edge stuff to say the least. I know it sounds a bit gushing, but i'm feeling sonically amazed in a way i haven't been probably since hearing Tim P's silk EQ many years ago and beinng amazed that digital could do this, i never expected it to be able to.......& that was my first conversion to Nebula & Acustica tools in the first place. Crimson is a madly brilliant piece of kit, and i say that convinced it's a very important place in music tech we are living through and experiencing right now. Bravo to AA, and bravo to the community here for making it all possible............

All changes in settings causes a brief phase shift, but I think it’s normal for AA.
Version: CrimsonT (A000) macOS, VST.
Only Saturator is On

Yes I see. I’m able to force the same result by changing project sample rate back and forth.
Perhaps something with the adaptive SR in the plugin(?)

On fresh project, it does not have that dip here (last two): [96, 96, 44.1 kHz]

But why enabling Compressor removes this dip?

!!! FIXED!!!
Oh, a miracle!
I set
<DEFAULTRATEKHZ> 96 </DEFAULTRATEKHZ>
and
<RATECONVERSION> 0 </RATECONVERSION>
and everything is OK now.
How could I forget this old trick?

When I set both Saturator and Compressor is On everything is OK even if Mix knob is set to Dry on compressor.
Tested at 96 kHz.
ok we'll check it tomorrow, I see they disabled dynamic rate conversion (we'll enable it), but I want to understand better if some "dummy" instance could be involved in sample rate conversion (they shouldn't); normally it happens if a dirac instance planned for being played at 44100 is involved in sample rate conversion.
In any case it is 100% fixable

Good to know.

– btw. any answers regarding Filter [HP setting] and [Bypass] in Sat module?
Sidechain filter:
HP setting operates close to full range. I would expect a passband in the upper highs, no ?

Bypass switch:
Disabling the module (OFF), still affects the signal if Mix-knob is set 100% wet. Isn't it a full bypass ?
Here's a vid showing Filter response: https://youtu.be/I3bMlnLbM8Q

Giancarlo,
please make Saturator as standalone module.
In most cases we dont need Compressor but it increases latency and eats CPU.

BTW thank you for "impossible" internal sidechain filter for compressors.
Waiting for link-unlink channels as default feature.

Compressor, when off, has a very small latency footprint

Old question:
Why when all modules are off plugin still uses 20% CPU?
