i´m getting really loud peaks when turning modules on and off or loading presets - how can you test a plug in like this? i downloaded the latest version today because i read somewhere that this has been taken care of. seriously this is not a professional product. i dont wanna ruin my ears or my monitors.

and why isnt there a bypass button? i have to switch of the plugin for that? with all that latency thing? this is definatly not making me smile.

Did you download it from aquarius?
That one was fixed, so if you experience peaks there raise a ticket
We'll upload the new version also with a legacy installer in January
I suggest to download products from aquarius when possible

I'm getting really loud peaks!

Thanks Acustica!

Crimson has enabled the loudest peaks ITB that still sound good.

If you have issues on the version downloaded from aquarius raise a ticket
Anyway this plugin is severely cpu intensive, and several audio drivers create extremely loud peaks if you run out of resources
How to detect it:
If the sequencer tells you the track clipped at xx dB it's the plugin
If you hear a loud spike but the track has a normal level (less then +6dB) it's the driver.

Side note: crimson can reach safetly +20dB, which is +38dBu
When you switch from that level to a quiet one you could get a big jump
I suggest to keep crimson clip on for this exact reason.
Internally the plugin can boost the audio even +60dB

I was saying it in a good way!

Really nice grind to this plug.

I have had no issues with this. I can even get 2 instances running if I use Digital Performer combined with Vienna Ensemble Pro. Excellent on 2-bus chain

When will end the pre-sale period of Crimson?
Before or after to the new website migration?

Finally got a chance to test this -

floored.

The compressor here really impressed me at first. Great on the mix or drums bus. After a bit of experimentation, the saturation proved to be really remarkable ITB and more usable than expected in a mastering context. FWIW I have used the HW a few times and found it really difficult to use in mastering - very picky with input levels and a bit frustrating and fiddly to dial in subtle amounts of drive.

Obviously the plug-in is not a direct emulation and operates a bit differently with the either/or harmonic modes, but it sounds great and is straightforward to use. The dynamic stuff happening with super mode or asymmetric compressor is pretty unique too.
