Re: Any Nebula library similar to Tonelux Tilt and T*****t A-R.?

It's Iron Line, with the caveat that it's one-way only: more treble, less bass, but not the reverse. It's worth having regardless because it is superb at adding gorgeous air. If Eric put a phase coherent Dry/Wet mix knob in the thing, it would be my fave little Clariphonic replacement. Hint, hint. A...

Re: Compression: not impressed at all, EQ: impressed

The OP is more or less right, and I say that as someone who is using Nebula EQs for nearly every boost in all my sessions. The comps in Nebula really aren't there yet if you need to do significant, fast gain reduction. This has been acknowledged by the devs, and will probably require some sort of hy...

Me neither. Even going from 44.1 to 48 I take a reasonable CPU hit.

Re: Questions About AlexB PCS presets NULL testing.

Giancarlo, I assume this static vs. dynamic difference you are discussing has nothing to do with input amplitude-dependence of the effect (i.e., kernel selection from input value), right? The difference you are discussing involves variation over time at a given amplitude? [EDIT - never mind, you dea...

Re: Questions About AlexB PCS presets NULL testing.

If you're looking for color, you should check out the Vintage Tube Collection and Tubebender from CDSM. Agreed, those tend to more of a harmonic-rich, obvious tube thickness that it sounds like you're looking for (and that is killer for mid range sweetening in small amounts btw). PCS is definitely ...

Re: Questions About AlexB PCS presets NULL testing.

Also the manual says you can drive the input like hardware via the input gain...but now i know it's the same as the DAW, so thats a little rubbishy too. What's meant by "you can drive the input like hardware" is simply that you will get increased harmonic distortion dependent on input. In other wor...

How hot is your input signal? Too low and you won't get any changes out of these.

I think the rhythminmind varimu compressor is nice on the 2 bus. I haven't tried alexb's white N**e comp but some like that for the same purpose.

Eric, which patch and settings (including MAST editing, if any) did you use for the audio demo on your site, which sounds great?

I'm really teetering over whether to just ignore this thread or respond. It's that ridiculous. Cactuseskimo: You are on a grand total of Post Number 5 on this forum. Literally: "Posts: 5" By "Posts: 2" you had already "uncovered" through your "research" all of the apparently hidden limitations of Ne...

Re: Nebula Marketing Hype - especially eq's and compressors

1)To complain about the less than transparent marketing where one has to dig quite a bit to find out the real story. There is a fully functional demo freely available which revealed all of Nebula's limitations and advantages to me within ten minutes of downloading it. Given that fact, your above co...

Re: Could someone please help explain EQ's for Nebula?

Generally speaking, it's one band at a time. Frequency, Q and drive can all be adjusted for that band. Some special EQ 'combo' programs have several bands at once, but usually if they do those bands will not be adjustable by Hz/Q. Most DAWs have a way to save a set of inserts as a preset, so you can...
