Re: OwnHammer New Release - Rio Grande EQ

Thanks again for the well wishes everybody! :) Hi, Maybe I missed but will there be a demo program? Hey there, I'm not big on demo programs, especially considering the low price points of my offerings. I like trying to offer some kind of preview though, so in lieu of sample programs/files I do the ...

Re: Doc Fear taking ages to load

That's just the nature of this beast, it needs time to load all its samples, which in some cases, it's over 1000+. It's the slowest library but one of my favorites, I really wish Velinas sampled it again at 96kHz, not to shorten load times but just to get a bit more "quality" out of it. +1! similar...

Re: CDSoundMaster Vintage Tube Collection Version 2.0 !

WOW! this release brought back some audio-memory's  VTC was the first library I bought! (mangel was very helpful in the process, I was a student learning audio-engineering back then) Still today; when a vocal needs any sort of enhancing (nebula or not) I open these librarys before I try an ...

Re: Green Squeeze - New Compressor

I had 3 songs to compare, one electronica and two metal. I'm mainly into rock-metal (and mastered many in the past for friends and clients) but since things are "clipped" these days I guess tools for electronica are somehow getting more and more acceptance in rock genre(like waveshapers or extra pun...

Re: Green Squeeze - New Compressor

LOL! THIS THING IS A MONSTER! Its been a while I could access my home studio cause of moving and computer related problems...now its all fixed and I'm back :D I couldn't play with this one enough yet but on my fast test drive it made everything sound bigger, transients can potentially slap you...

Re: Hmmmm.....

wow...I can't imagine a personality who came-up with that just to save a few euro's :?

Someone can just beg outside the streets for an hour to save and buy a library, that's much more decent rather than planning to steal.

So with Nebula eq's we normally set one full kernel, and other bands clean so it won't be like using 1 hardware for 1 band and another hardware for a second band...right? Just an idea but what if the 1 full kernel band was like a bandpass filter? I mean like after the edgest of Q (no matter how wide...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

I read posts like -finally normal eq's are getting to nebula quality...on various forums and I must say I disagree with that. I mean such comments (to me) refers to as if technological advances but with this simply test to me it isn't. I may sound like a broken record (that's like a skipping or stu...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

@mertavy By the way, I'm not sharing my findings as argumentative with you. you put it in here, so you get comments, that's life. that worked out fine for me till now ;) if you would test some of AlexBs eq-librarys, the way you supposed, they would just sound like crap and you would never buy...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

you really should test it with the valve turned off. I bet it won't change your levels. I think psp's stuff have way too much saturation by default, and i mostly like it turned off, cause its this blurry kind of saturation on transients that i associate with digital sound. Ah, exactly what I was tr...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

I understand, but you can't draw conclusions about the way this plugin responds to dynamics under normal conditions by overloading it on purpose. But why not? with buddle vst analyzer, the moment I open it shows -1 db from 20 hz to 1 khz and gently drops to a little less then -2 db from 1 khz to 20...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

I repeated your test and had +6dBFS (and more) in Wavelab. But I still don't understand what you are testing. If you are comparing this plugin to Nebula you should use it the same way. I don't think the designers meant it to be used as a clipping tool. It doesn't seem to compress/limit the dynamics...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

I've made several tests with this EQ and it's very accurate dynamically. I measured both peak and average levels and compared them to the original file each time. If you check the LS with the analyzer you will notice that it is very broad/wide even when you set it to 20Hz so that could create some ...

Re: Not exactly a third party library...

My demo period is almost over. In my (very) limited time when trying it on complex material I noticed it can really decrease dynamics. Tried this some may like it, insert normal eq and decrease using low-shelve (like somewhere from 200-300 hz), place nobleq, now copy that same normal eq but increase...
