Re: Emerald

i actually don't like the GUI but that's just me... I think it's more the size (for me) than anything. I have generally found larger pieces of gear to simply "appear" more impressive. Having the sound be just as big only plusses the impact. Murano is slightly larger than most Acquas which gives it ...

Re: Emerald

I'm going to put this here:

The more I use Emerald the more I love it. It's really beautiful and I can't recommend it enough. If you missed out on Pearl do not be discouraged. Emerald is a real gem.

I'd like to thank Acustica for giving us this huge-sounding thing and a big shiny faceplate to match.

Re: Magenta 3 this friday

It might be an issue related to Studio One or something else in my system. I have to have cut lit up on that band to make boosts there.

Re: Magenta 3 this friday

I vaguely remember someone posting an issue with Magenta 3's high band boost and cut switch being reversed... just in case I've submitted a ticket. I can still get the action I want but it is disconcerting having the light backwards on one of the bands.

Re: ACUSTICA EMERALD CONTEST

No fair. I just got to work and saw this. Not much of a contest.

Re: Retro game tunes

Strange. I'll look into that...
Alright it's fixed. I updated the mix and for some reason the link was changed instead of getting overwritten. It's working now.

Re: Emerald

Commercial Acqua Effect plug-ins are 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz. No re-sample is performed. In trials 44.1 and 96 kHz are available only, for 88.2 kHz, 44.1 vectors are used and for 48 kHz, 96 kHz vectors are used. Ok, nice. Technically then I could set the default sample rate to anything and the p...

Re: Emerald

This all brings up another question... perhaps I should post this somewhere else, but as long as we're discussing .xml files, I have always needed some clarification on this one: Do the Acqua plugins automatically read the sample rate of the host and use the corresponding program? In the .xml I reme...

Re: Emerald

Thanks for that input. Sounds like a valid possibility. Wouldn't it be awesome to sample each unit twice with different cables/whatever just to ensure that the left and right channels are not exactly the same...

I would think that having left and right channels sampled would give an even more truthful representation of the hardware and thus yield an even more authentic, 'real life' hardware sound.
This is what I was thinking... but I think I'm missing something technical.

Re: Emerald

What confuses me the most, technically, is how you get a plugin enhancing the 3-dimensionality of the source signal by sampling a mono unit... I'm aware of the sound the plugin generates, but how does that come from a unit that has no stereo signal path? You've mentioned Pearl also being a mono unit...

Re: Emerald

I hope I'm not misunderstanding your post... I was just referring to how it would be used in its physyical form if there were two of them. Like a Distressor would be used. So to do that in Emerald's plugin form you'd just use two of them. I know it's a stereo plugin like the others.... This is just...

Retro game tunes

I started working on this for fun a couple of weeks ago. I figured I would share because the entire thing is processed with Navy. Nothing else except a 2-buss compressor and some metering and trim plugins... well aside from the drum compression and the synth itself, which provides some fx. https://a...
