Re: Building a digital console.. with NEBULA

definitely is the future... I wonder how hard it would be to build each strip as a single plugin much like CDSoundmaster packaged up his N**e into a nice plugin.. I would, of course, make them vertical oriented and have the channel strip travel the entire length of the 1080p resolution screen. inter...

Building a digital console.. with NEBULA

I'm basically building a brand new PC with the INTEL Xeon Nehalem 7560 processor. The motherboard can take up to 4 processors. With 8 cores on each processor, that would give nebula 32 cores to work with. with 48gb of ram I'm hoping to run this machine side by side with my main daw as a digital repr...

Re: Slate VCC Released

I tried mixing with it last night. Hahaha. In less than an hour I had my entire nebula alexB modern console strip plugged into every channel. So much for that :P

Re: 96k programs with 48k audio (recommended conversion)

I second that. I work at 48khz so I let Nebula SRC from 96 or 44.1 to my session rate of 48. Small voice in the back of my head says "work at 96" but the RADAR II goes to 48khz only and I'm not wanting to upgrade to a different set of converters at this time. I do wonder if Nebula's high quality mod...

Re: AITB-Snap Compressor

yeah definitely use the ears. not quite sure how the different compressed sounds are "triggered" to play but it seems to have more to do with how much signal you send into the unit than the threshold knobs trying to give an accurate GR readout. It's probably impossible to have the GR meter tell you ...

Re: Maddi Jane - 70% Nebula, 30% Outboard

It's not HARD... It'S IMPOSSIBLE to go back; my ears hurt if I try. I'm almost through the transition.(just ordered a few D*x and O***n de-essers) so i can officially be completely plugin free. I was amazed at what Ren. De-Esser did (destroyed) to the vocal after I put it in the chain. It's not safe...

Re: Maddi Jane - 70% Nebula, 30% Outboard

Hard to place exactly what item is contributing most to the sound you hear on the voice. About the Peluso, I'm not entirely sure which model. I borrow it from a friend. We trade mics back and forth all the time. The preamp was a Summit Audio 2BA-221 with a tiny bit of tube drive on recording. The pi...

Re: Maddi Jane - 70% Nebula, 30% Outboard

you guys are really too kind. i still have tons to learn about mixing :) It's been so much easier since figuring out nebula, but I will be on a lifelong pursuit to discover more and more about how to connect recorded music directly to the hearts of people. that's all that really matters in the end r...
