Re: How do you make sure you are hitting Nebula at -18dbfs?

What a mess! This is not the simplest subject to begin with but come on Acustica... First off, dBFS does not automatically imply peak reading. Maybe it did once upon a time (I'm not sure that's even the case) but it has become very common to compare windowed average level readings to Full Scale and ...

Re: How do you make sure you are hitting Nebula at -18dbfs?

... For example, I often use auto normalizing when receiving all kind of material for mixing which is usually far from optimal. On the other hand, If everything is perfect from the start and you have control over it, there is no need for additional normalizing etc. So i am trying to use the right m...

Re: How do you make sure you are hitting Nebula at -18dbfs?

Perhaps I'm missing something vital but I don't entirely understand the very need for batch processing in this manner. If you're a professional engineer then you should already understand what's been pointed out (and was effectively just reiterated by Zab): that a straightforward system of rules are...

Re: How do you make sure you are hitting Nebula at -18dbfs?

-18dBFS is a peak value, not RMS Pay attention if you want to address to nebula usage: most of compressors and preamps are based on peak (L infinite norm) and not RMS (L2 norm) Gdrive itself is based on peak. You need to normalize your audio to -18. Rms will work in most of cases, but there is at le...

Re: AlexB V2 comp

Personally, I will buy a 2.0 version of any and every Alex library I own, which consists of:
5 consoles
6 EQs
5 comps
2 other
But not a single one of them has been updated yet. So for me, that's why I haven't bought any 2.0s yet.

Re: Version 1.3.839 RC

- plugin stores sample rate at saving time: fixed many chainers and wavelab (sample rate was not preserved during renders or plugin reloading). This feature could be disabled for reverting to old legacy mode Does this address the weird PT wrapper errors I've reported in Metaplugin on first load? Be...

Yeah....well....You had better mix in more guitars when I get my modular guitar all tweaked and ready...... lol it's a deal. Somewhat humorous to me...I started Fsckstick before I started the modular to run alongside the project that Richie and I regularly work on together thinking I could use it t...

Thanks kindafishy! The whole project is very synth-y as I am just putting the last modules into my modular synth so lots of playing around with that.

Our first 'eponymous' release is finished! So much Nebula I wouldn't know where to begin...featuring our own richie43 on guitars who added yet more Nebula instances. Totally free of charge for her pleasure and yours (I think downloads are disabled on Scloud but are available for free on Bandcamp). E...

Re: Titanium (multiband compressor)

saying that, things will be better in the future. At the beginning of this year our acqua products were not working like normal plugins, nebula was not running at all on most of systems, au64 was a mirage, and the company was handled by a one man band. Website was crappy, support was completely mis...

Re: Titanium (multiband compressor)

That's fine and well, I also dislike Apple's methods; but of all the companies I deal with vis-a-vis plugins, most of them very small (some of them even smaller than Acustica) Nebula remains the only plugin I own for which buying a new computer means losing the ability to use the plugin. If every th...

Re: Titanium (multiband compressor)

Sorry, this is totally unrealistic. If you buy a new Mac Pro for your studio you can only run 10.9 or 10.10 If you buy a new (Retina) iMac you can only run 10.10 So what's the message here? If you want to use Nebula only use a 3 year old computer? If you want be a Apple OS beta tester for free go a...
