Reaper Feature Request

Hi Reaper users, I'd like to be able to pitchbend and do tapestop type fx directly on audio items with envelopes. (using reapers rate / sample rate conversion) Technically it would be called: Take rate envelope please vote for my feature request here. http://forum.cockos.com/project.php?issueid=4711

Re: why does rendering or bouncing lose mojo and 3dness in logic

I did a couple more tests in reaper today with 3 instances of alex b eq on a breaks track and am pleased to say i can't hear a difference in mojo when bouncing at 32bit fp and null is infinite as far as i can see in span...Although as soon as i added an alex b input channel and master bus channel, i...

Re: why does rendering or bouncing lose mojo and 3dness in logic

Interesting read. It explains the dither coming from 32bit fp down to 24 i saw in span for one. I'll have another bash rendering at 32bit fp when my ears have recovered from the last couple of days sessions. Both Cubase and Reaper do it on mac. Always thought it was dumb that logic doesn't do 32bit....

Re: why does rendering or bouncing lose mojo and 3dness in logic

Yeah it does it in cubase too, i tried awhile back. Before anyone else recommends anything obvious, I have tried all file formats and bit depths, online and offline bounces and recording directly back in on most DAWS internally and DA-AD.

Re: why does rendering or bouncing lose mojo and 3dness in logic

also i notice when looking at voxengo span doing some of these tests that doing a straight bounce on a file with no plugins inserted gets a perfect null all the way down as far as the analyser goes, but as soon as you insert any type of plug in, even just a gain, a noisefloor appears, that looks lik...

Re: why does rendering or bouncing lose mojo and 3dness in logic

I tried online and offline bounce and different dithering too. I did figure out is that routing the track with plugins on to a bus and recording using that bus as an input always retains more than a bounce. Annoyingly the best in terms of retaining 3d and vibe seems to be going out the converters an...

why does rendering or bouncing lose mojo and 3dness in logic

I've noticed it with lots of plug-ins, but more so with nebula because it sounds so good. I did a good few hours of testing yesterday, i seem to do it every couple of years because i have never had a satisfactory answer from anyone. I'm not looking for a null, i just want the bounced version to have...

Re: OK Can Nebula3 Null In A Test?

I've been laughed out of the room many times when i say daw bounces don't match the original track with live nebulas or other plug ins.... the last test i did was an old breakbeat brightened and re mastered with three nebula alex b 1073's. Having done a blind a/b test with a friend i could pick the ...

Re: Vintage Sampler Programs...?

i would love emu 6400 filters , i miss them! The ones in the free library suck. I realise that it would take a lot of samples to do them properly but it would be worth it, i'd do it myself but i'm on a mac.

Re: MC77 (1176) Compression Programs

The nuke setting rocks for a bit of parallel compression on my kick and snare!! It did exactly what i needed after a little midscoop.
