AlexB libraries and low end ripple

I now use workarounds to avoid these problems, but ideally the li...

AVX512 ?

I remember AVX2 was implemented very quick in Nebula/Acqua and that it gave a good boost in performance. Does the same apply for AVX 512? Is it already implemented and is it worth buying into Intel HEDT as I see the regular desktop CPUs don't have it.

Thanks

Re: CPU security flaw, OS update fix & "huge performance los

Seems like besides the windows patches, we'll also need to upgrade hardware firmware which will impact performance more unless you have skylake CPU or newer.

Re: CPU security flaw, OS update fix & "huge performance los

I had to installI the latest Windows update, everything seems to work fine. Can't see any impact on performance, all projects load fine. Aquarius is also fine, just installed Crimson (Wow awesome saturation :D)

Mostly Vcult :). Behemoth, Ms.Smith and So Transited are great tools to have as well. Still nothing else quite like them in Nebula land.

It works in reaper, if cubase doesn't work out as your new DAW. Still using your Nebula presets here by the way :)

Re: Nebula version 4.x experiences

First of all, congratulations AA! I also a bit confused, but figured it out eventually. Both rose and N4 need to be authorized separately, but both files are named the same: N4.aut. The one you need to upload for authorization for N4 is located in the nebula4temposotory folder, where the N4.ser file...

Re: Help on a new computer, please! (My wife gave green ligh

With a 1000$ budget I'd probably go for a xeon 1230v5. It's basically a skylake i7 without the onboard video and no overclocking for around $250. That should leave enough cash for the rest of the build.

Re: Help on a new computer, please! (My wife gave green ligh

Never used a Mac in my life, so can't help you there. But I'm sure if you build your own pc you get the best bang for your buck. As for my i7 3770, it is already old :( The sweet spot at the moment for price/performance seems to be a choice between the skylake 4 core or a haswell/broadwell-e 6 core ...
