I'll second this motion... I think there could be some difference between DAWS!

Re: Mac OSX Nebula Advice if posible!

Hi everybody. Reading this post made take the decision of making a very deep test about the whole Nebula 3 VST vs. AU and VST vs. AU (wrapper). So to make sure all settings were correct I first saved them as presets and then loaded and re-checked just in case. So I can say that I'm 100% sure that a...

Re: Rendering Tracks or Bus Stems on Mac OSX

I second that. Good, sound advice. As a "work around" I render stems on massive projects to continue my work as well. My work flow is this: Clean- I clean each track in izotope RX. Bounce each one down. Color- I then "treat" my tracks one by one with neb saturation, tape, pres and console emus as n...

Re: Which Console & EQ's for Deep House

CLeq seems to be my go-to EQ. The S*L channel strip EQ really gives one all they need to do the heavy lifting or light carving. Like most here, I have a tone of 3rd party libraries I barely use, but I keep coming back to the AlexB CLeq. I own the 4KD, AIB and Rhythm In Mind compressors, but it stil...

Re: Which Console & EQ's for Deep House

NYC style drum bus : GreenSqueeze by TMS. Make sure you hit the input hard and go for at least 6 dB GR. Eats those Stillwell toys for breakfast. Thanks Barendse... richie43 also mentioned taking a look at TMS which I've done and I'm really impressed. All of a sudden I've got emulation lust and thin...

Rendering Tracks or Bus Stems on Mac OSX

I'm just about to buy Nebula Pro and many 3rd party libs thanks to the really sound advice I've received here over the last few days. I can see how my workflow will have to change after advice from cpwade (Thanks Paul) and just wanted to know the following: If I need to save some CPU, can I render a...

They're definitely on my list anthonyw... one thing that will be important for me is the sound of kick drums recorded to tape!

Re: Which Console & EQ's for Deep House

Thanks richie43, I'll take a look at GMD and hadn't heard of the GTS-39 until now so I'll look at that too. I'm already a big fan of Schwa and Stillwell so I'm glad to see someone else liking their products. Thanks again, it's a great help getting solid advice from users with far more knowledge than...

Re: Mac OSX Nebula Advice if posible!

Brilliant Paul... thanks for the great in-depth advice. I haven't upgraded to Lion as I prefer Snow Leopard which is a bonus. I see clearer now where the workflow differences are from what I'm doing now. I have a long way to go before fully understand everything but hopefully I'll get the sound I'm ...

Re: Mac OSX Nebula Advice if posible!

Big thanks PW, your info's also a great help.

I read that Nebula has a quite a learning curve which you also mention. What's different about the way you have to work if you have a powerful PC/Mac?

Thanks again!

Re: Which Console & EQ's for Deep House

Thanks anthonyw,

I'll have a look at them tonight.

There's so much choice it's hard to no where to start other than by trial an error. It's nice to hear hear from users with experience!

Re: Mac OSX Nebula Advice if posible!

Thanks musicgreator, that is good news! I'll maybe try the VST and AU version side by side and see how they fair. Can you also wrap 3rd party Nebula VST's like R2R or Tapebooster+? It would be really nice to have the 3rd party skins on Mac OSX instead of just one Nebula skin! Thanks for your time he...
