Re: JAH FILTER / New Library to built

Yes It not the same like STN because he sample the filter with "normal" spec and wire routing , in line connection with 10K input With a mixing console you can create a step phaser with this type of filter filtered sound + original sound ( 50/50% ) , killer on hihat , gtr skank and spring verb ! Thi...

Re: Libraries idea "TAPE EQUALIZER" / Bias & curve setting

Cdsoundmaster's R2R library 'kind of' has these presets. At lower levels, the highs are more present, and at higher levels, the highs are more attenuated. I use this all the time with any source, works great! The Studer A800 presets from this R2R library are the ones you're looking for. Maybe a bit...

Re: Libraries idea "TAPE EQUALIZER" / Bias & curve setting

My t-tape sat preset changes frequency as it goes into compress or distort. This works at 41ms program rate so super fast! You won't hear at as a tonal change but more of a softening because of the speed. I know this isn't necessarily what the original question was... Anyhow https://www.youtube.com...

Libraries idea "TAPE EQUALIZER" / Bias & curve setting

I m very surprise that no one sample a tape with different bias & curve eq setting , because is was a secret weapon in the past . In a conventional way , you calibrate your tape with a special tools , special tape etc ... but at end of process all channel sound same ! even you play a bass or a flute...

Re: color tape

Old post ;) I like to use this preset on drum but it's curious , the gain staging is not the same ...i have more than 5 db than other program ? I use on NebulaMan at -10db ( TRUE PEAK ) , i think it's ok , but i want to be sure ...Why the volume is hot finally ? I must lower the input or output ? Th...

Re: Bee X-20 Spring Reverb

Fisher K10 , great unit to sample .If i know how I can do that :) or i can send my unit to a dev ... I use this reverb for long time . The "trick" is to damp one spring in the tank ( the tighter one ) , the spring is more "bonnggggy " A good preamp or limiter is important to send a good signal to th...

Re: How to get that "Vintage" Reggae Dub sound ?

I've also heard, but don't know if its true, the tape machine was never maintained at CH 1 & they had no alignment tape.. :-0 I think they use the bias trick technique or eq bias trick ( just records what you hear) I test it on my revox PR99MK3 ...with a bass for exemple ..try to over-bias your mac...

Re: How to get that "Vintage" Reggae Dub sound ?

Hi - a little late to the party, but this is an interesting subject.. :-) I love that vintage 70's Jamaican sound! ...I think the most important part of the equation in the sound of that 70's stuff is what happened on the front end! The musicians, sound & tuning of the instruments, location, studio...

Re: How do you make sure you are hitting Nebula at -18dbfs?

the first time I used the software , i don t understand this gain staging because i was thinking , the gain staging is only for this software . But after that i see my RME fireface manual and it show the maximum headroom in analogue/digital domain .For me it's -15dbFS=0VU There is a big confusion fo...
