Re: PCS Preamp Colour Suite instead of hardware preamps??

Thanks for all replies guys. Some further background. I have a Toneport UX2 as my interface and I usually use the built-in preamps when micing up, then apply PCS in the box. I recently however found out that I could bypass the UX2's pres, and go directly into the line level inputs of the UX2 to get ...

PCS Preamp Colour Suite instead of hardware preamps??

Does anybody here use the PCS library instead of actual hardware preamps? Has been anybody replaced their hardware preamp with any software?

Re: The interface

Kinda agree with Darren. This thing could be huge if it was designed for people. As it stands, it won't ever grow past its current existence until a big company decides to buy your technology, implement decent GUIs and rinse you out of the money you could have had. Sad, but likely.

Tape in Nebula - How do you use it?

Hi guys, I've got a couple of queries about using Tape programs in Nebula. At the moment, I don't understand what I'm doing with tape programs At the crux of this perhaps is that I don't really understand enough about tape in the first place. Could somebody please give me a layman's guide to the fol...

Re: Nebula Signal Chain

Both of you guys, thanks again for the input. It's really valuable as somebody who has never set foot amongst hardware - really helps the bedroom warriors learn how to get the best from the ITB experiences!

Re: Nebula Signal Chain

Hopefully I get this "right"... TRACKING 1 - Console MIC input 2 - Preamp (Don't do both 1&2 unless you're going for a highly colored sound. Make your first insert #1 OR #2, but ignore the other. Hope that made sense  ) 3 - Tape 4 - Tapebooster + 5 - VTM-M2 6 - Equalizer 7 - Compressor 8 -...

Best tape alternative to R2R?

Put simply, I'm put off the R2R collection by the price (currently I might add! In the future I might have enough funds!).

What do you guys feel is the next best alternative for tape? I'd be looking at tape for use on individual tracks and also busses mainly.

Thanks! :)

Nebula Signal Chain

All, I have wondered for a while about the "correct" order to be using different types of nebula programs on my work and I'm keen to understand more about the signal chain order that people use at each point in their production. Could you please help me by listing what signal chain order you might u...
